Japanese 101スキットハンドアウト Spring 2020
Grade:
- 40 points on top of the Final Exam grade. It must be done in groups of 3 students. Point: check on each other on understanding, accuracy and fluency. For each assigned question, any two of the group is fine.
Skit presentation date:
- 4/22 (水曜日) you must type it in Word file and submit your link to Canvas by the night before.
Deadline for draft script:
- Submit your first draft to Canvas between April 7th (W)-13th (W) . All 3 members of each group must fully participate. Each member must submit your own Word document to Canvas. Once draft is submitted, I will check for you and revise it if necessary and get back with you. Then you must memorize the revised version and turn in your revised draft on the day of your skit presentation.
Topic of the skit: Work on all 4 of the following with English translation for the first question.
- P. 115 B, 1-9. Q&A.
- p. 116 C. 1-9. Q&A.
- P. 117 A 1-6 and B 1-6.
- P. 118 A 1-5. Be careful about positive and negative, depending on the question.
- P. 119 B, on the price of each item that your partner has bought. You must use negative first and then the positive. Both must be in the past tense.
- P. 120. B. 1-6.
- P. 122. B. 1-4.
- P. 123. A. 1-4.
Requirements:
Each member must check work by other 2 members and comment/correct. Each member must revise. All members must be responsive and complete project in a timely manner.
Criteria for the performance:
- Do a YouTube video with one person on video, the other on phone. You must do at least 3 of the above on video but must do all on written. Youcan do one of the topics at a time with a single partner. You must practice till you are fluent and accurate. NOTE ALL OF THE ABOVE HAVE BEEN PRACTICED IN CLASS INTENSIVELY.

3. Rubrics of YT Performance
Scale=0-10 points with 10 the highest possible. Students must demonstrate thorough familiarity with the materials and ease with which the video is performed. Materials must be memorized and students need to look at the camera (unless specified otherwise in a few cases) to maximize the benefits of the YT assignments. Body language and appropriate gap-fillers are expected, as demonstrated in class. Grading scales are as follows:
0 =Failure to complete or submit
4 =Completed, submitted but with no fluency or accuracy or right speed to indicate you have learned the materials;
6 =Incomplete or completed with some indication of having learned the materials but with lack of fluency or clear errors;
8 =Completed with clear indication of having learned the materials but with some minor errors or lack of fluency;
10 =Completed and with virtually no errors and presented clean and well-organized, complete fluency and accuracy.
